Statement of Faith

We embrace wholeheartedly the following basic historic Baptist beliefs:

A) That the Bible was written by Holy men of God; that both the Old and New Testaments were plenary and verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writing and should be accepted literally except when clearly indicated by the text otherwise. We further believe that they are the supreme, absolute standard for all conduct, creeds, doctrines and opinions. II Peter 1:19-21, II Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 1:1-2, 2:3-4, John 10:34-35, I Peter 1:10-11, II Samuel 23:1-2

B) That the Godhead exists in three equal persons as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes and perfection, each executing distinct but harmonious affairs in the great work of redemption and plan of God. John 14:26, John 15:26, Ephesians 2:18, Matthew 3:16-17

C) That Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. Luke 1:35, John 1:1-4, 10:14, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15-20

D) That God created man in His image; that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed. Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:1-24, Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:10, 23, 5:12, 6:23

E) That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sin as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that by accepting his atonement for our sins we are justified by faith apart from human merit. Ephesians 2:8-9, II Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:21-24

F) That the Lord Jesus Christ came forth from the grave bodily resurrected, that he ascended into Heaven and in his present work is there for us as High Priest and Advocate. John 20:24-28, I Corinthians 15:3-8, I John 2:1-2, Hebrews 7:24-28

G) That the "Blessed Hope" set before us is the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Acts 1:11, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, John 14:1-3

H) That the bodily resurrection of man will bring everlasting blessedness to the righteous and everlasting damnation to those who have not been born again. John 5:28-29, I Corinthians 15, Revelation 20:11-15

I) That Satan and other evil fallen angels are real spiritual personalities in rebellion against God and actively seek to deceive all men to destruction. Ephesians 1:21, 2:2, 4:27, 6:12, Matthew 4:10, John 8:44, Isaiah 14:12-14, Revelation 12:9

J) That the ordinances of the Church are: (1) Water Baptism (immersion) for the believers; and (2) the Lord's Supper for those walking in fellowship with Christ. Acts 8:36-38, I Corinthians 11:23-32

K) That believers are to pattern their living after the life and teachings of Christ and faithfully witness to all men. John 15, Mark 8:34, II Corinthians 6:14-18, Matthew 28:18-20, I Peter 3:15, II Timothy 2:15

L) That believers are to support the local church, local and foreign missions financially, motivated by love in a faithful manner, so as not to rob God of His tithes and offerings. Malachi 3:8-12, I Corinthians 16:1-2, Galatians 6:10, II Corinthians 9:6-15
