“Relationships: A Mess Worth Making” (Book Study) (Ladies Only Please) Room #205Facilitator: Mrs. Sue Sterner
|
Your best friend is suddenly cold and distant. Your husband can’t stop complaining about your bad habits. Your son or daughter refuses to talk to you. What are you supposed to do? Every painful thing we experience in relationships is meant to remind us of our need for the Lord Jesus Christ. Every good thing we experience is meant to be a metaphor of what we can find only in Him. To quote C.S. Lewis, “When first things are put first, second things are not suppressed, but increased.” The ladies’ class will be studying why we should bother with relationships at all, what sin has done to relationships, what our hidden agendas may be in holding on to relationships so tightly, and why we are so frustrated when they don’t go our way–or as we would plan them. We will discuss how we talk to others, the obstacles to communication and the burdens we carry. We will hear God’s Word on forgiveness, hope, mercy, provision and so much more as a part of relationship–first with Him, then with others. If you’re tired of not understanding others, tired of them not understanding you, and/or tired of feeling like you just can’t find freedom in relationships, then this class is for you. Let’s open God’s Word together and find His design and purpose in relationship for our marriages, our families and our friendships. |

Ephesians (Co-Ed Adults) Room #101-102Facilitator: Mr. Phil Lechak |
Election 2008, if it has done one thing, has unearthed an attitude that seems to be common in every corner of America. People are tired: tired of promises that do not produce and tired of claims that are really cover-ups. They are tired of surface solutions for problems that go far deeper than the surface. We will never solve the problems of this country if we start with man. The only way to solve the problems of our planet is to start with the One who created it–God. With these words, “Paul an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the will of God, to the saints,” we open a letter–originally written almost 2,000 years ago to others–but with a message alive for us today. In this little letter, which explodes with the message of Paul’s heart that life ends and begins with God, we find solutions for personal living and for corporate living. Come join us as we learn anew the timeless message of Christian living. We will study not philosophy or theology alone, but God’s plan for a practical life. |
